We found a John Laidman buried in Knottingley, and no trace of his baptism either there or in Pontefract.
On the Bowes side we had John Laidman son of Mark and Tamar Railton, with no death or burial record in Bowes. He therefore moved away, and the above John Laidman fits in well with this.
Another thing which points to the possibility of this connection is that there were burials for Mark and Tamar at Bowes and their daughter Margrett L1621, we know that Thomas L1990 died at West Witton, Mark L1622 we know nothing of and John who was L1623 we know nothing of, so it really does suggest that Mark and John both moved away.
